The deer is widespread in Europe, most often in forest complexes of larger watercourses – Danube, Sava, Drava, and hill and mountain forests. They are very numerous in Croatia in the area of Baranja and Slavonia and Gorski Kotar, in the Balkans in Vojvodina and in Slovenia along the floodplains of three large rivers to the border of the forests in the Slovenian Alps.

Deer game is a hunt by stalking, luring, and bringing in carts. Weapons with grooved barrels are used for hunting, the minimum permissible kinetic energy of the pellet at 100 m is 2500 joules, the minimum permissible pellet weight is 8.20 grams, shooting at a maximum distance of 150 meters.
